LSX DESIGN

Lazzara continues its tradition and sets a new milestone!  Fifty years and three generations of yacht building later, Lazzara’s leadership role increases with the  introduction of an Express Yacht – the 75’ LSX. Lazzara has evolved its signature lines to reflect a combination of European style coupled with American boldness.  Onlookers will stand in awe, whether she’s dockside or cutting across the ocean at full throttle.

The layout is designed with comfort and convenience in mind.  Four couples can dine in the country kitchen under the expansive windshield, relax in the sun, or retire to respective staterooms in total freedom. Technological considerations maximize entertainment and safety options.  The LSX has adjustable lighting throughout, flat screens and iPods abound, and an  ergonomically-designed helm station for peak performance standards.  A tethered dive system, 10’ tender, spacious aft deck with pass-through bar and sun pads will meet every level of activity desired.

Mechanically, the engines make the LSX the most user-friendly large yacht on the market.  The Volvo Penta IPS system is ideal because its four-engine configuration delivers the most power at the highest scale of economy.  Furthermore, the joystick operation makes for effortless handling of this extraordinary vessel, even for novice captains.

75_01FwdVIP01MLSX PERFORMANCE

Lazzara Yachts and Volvo Penta began work in early 2006 and combined their respective talents to create a yacht that sets new performance standards, yet remains pragmatic for conventional use.  The LSX fuel efficiency enables it to sustain a 35-knot top speed and be out of sight before it’s out of fuel.  As a result, planning a voyage based on a range of about 400 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 31 knots is nothing but pure pleasure!75_01Galley02M

The weeks of testing by Volvo Penta engineers conducted with Lazzara’s team exceeded all safety expectations.  On three engines, the boat reached 27 knots; on two, she reached 18 knots; and one engine, there was enough power and steerage to navigate safely.

If calm and quiet rides are a priority, then the LSX will soothe the senses.  The hull was designed especially for the four forward-facing props, thus creating incredible stability.  When the power sunroof is closed, the outside noise is negligible.  And when the sunroof opens, the main cabin pressure remains constant.

Enjoying the outdoors while underway is equally comfortable.  The roar and vibrations typically expected on this size yacht don’t exist with the Volvo Penta IPS drives and engines.  Furthermore, the clean, modern D-6 600 coupled with the underwater exhaust eliminate soot, smoke and fumes, so the hull stays cleaner and safety is preserved no matter what your choice of recreation.

With the Volvo Penta IPS system, pulling dockside is easier than parallel parking a car.  Many large yacht operators feel that entering and leaving the dock is the most stressful part of the d75_01Salon02May.  But moving the LSX in any direction takes only the simple push or pull of the joystick controller.  In a different context, the IPS requires just 187 meters for a full turn – that’s about 1/3 less room than comparable inboards thanks to Volvo Penta’s IPS technology including the industry’s first steer by wire system.

Extensive performance systems sometimes mean complicated maintenance schedules.  Not so with the LSX!  The entire IPS unit comes from Volvo Penta, so one vendor can handle everything if service is required.  Considering the fact that the system (in testing) worked perfectly “day one” — right out of the box, Lazzara doesn’t expect the first service call until after 400 hours. Volvo Penta IPS requires no haul out or lubricant change before 400 hours.

As with many things in life, quality performance is more than just what can be quantified.  It’s also about what captures the senses to see, hear and feel.  The Lazzara LSX Quad 75 sweetens all of these into a yachting experience that is second to none.
